BRADFORD - Open Arms Community Church in Bradford, PA is planning a celebration
for the church's tenth anniversary on Sunday, October 7th. The event will
feature special services at 9:15AM and 11:00AM as well as a potluck picnic
following the second service.
Open Arms was launched 10 years ago by
founding Pastor Andy Haskins and the congregation of the Allegany Free Methodist
Church in the vacant Tuna Valley Free Methodist Church building. After a major
facelift on the facilities, the fledgling church met on Saturday Nights, until
current pastor, Mike McAvoy started Sunday morning services with his arrival one
year later.
After ten years, the church has developed as an organization
that attempts to engage culture with current topics, multimedia, and modern
music.
This Sunday, September 30th, the church launches it's new fall
series, TEOTWAWKI: The End of The World As We Know It, which will offer a
current interpretation of end-times prophecies, as well as a "sensible" approach
as to how they can be applied to modern life.
"We really want to extend a
hearty welcome to our community for this anniversary!" says Media Coordinator
Josh Hatcher. "We're so excited that we've been able to serve this region for
ten years, and we would love it if we could celebrate together that
weekend!"
Open Arms Community Church hosted a zombie themed video shoot in preparation for
their new sermon series, "TEOTWAWKI: The End Of The World As We Know It". The
series starts Sunday, September 30 at 9:15AM or 11:00AM, and will run through
October
